The Concertgebouw

The Concertgebouw

In 2007, David Spelman was hired by the Concertgebouw to serve as artistic advisor for the creation of a new guitar festival. The three-day event took place during the 2007 summer season and was sponsored by the Dutch asset management firm Robeco.

The event featured concerts of gypsy jazz, flamenco, lute and viheula music of the baroque and renaissance, as well as the complete concertos of Joaquin Rodgrigo, performed by Pepe Romero and members of the Romero family.

Because of its highly regarded acoustics, The Concertgebouw is considered one of the finest concert halls in the world, along with venues such as Boston's Symphony Hall, and the Musikerein in Vienna.
