Since 2013, David Spelman has served as Artistic Advisor to the TEDxNavesink ideas conference. In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading" TEDxNavesink brings world-leading TED Talks to Monmouth County, New Jersey, in an all-day live event that inspires audiences to learn and think about the future of the Jersey Shore.

The inaugural event for TEDxNavesink: The Next Wave, took place on Sep 20, 2013 at Brookdale Performing Arts Center in Lincroft, New Jersey. The sold-out audience experienced 25 live talks and performances. Content was concurrently broadcast from TEDxCity2.0 from the Times Center New York, and there were extensive opportunities to meet speakers and network with other attendees, including a reception at the Monmouth Museum.

TEDxNavesink: Play took place on May 10, 2014 at the Two River Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey. Play offered two dozen live talks and entertainments on the surprising ways that play is a positive force in our lives. Being at play is a most resourceful state, and facilitates greater openness, tolerance, creativity, curiosity, and generosity. As a consequence, it impacts business, education, innovation, public space, community, real estate values, and culture.

TEDxNavesinl: Accelerators takes place on April 11, 2015 at Monmouth University's Pollak Theater, in West Long Branch, New Jersey and will explore how Accelerators are creating game-changing innovation and cutting edge thought. Accelerators are: catalysts. Change makers. Inflection points. Pivotal moments.
